Why BT?

We’ve always been an organisation with purpose; we connect for good. You can trace this back to our beginning as pioneers of the world’s first telecommunications company. At our heart we’re a technology company with research and innovation in our bones and a desire to be personal, simple, and brilliant for our customers - those are the values we live by whilst also creating an inclusive working environment where people from all backgrounds can succeed.

Our pursuit of progress over the past 180 years has established BT as a strong, successful brand, with huge scale capable of achieving great things. From supporting emergency services, hospitals, banks and keeping economies around the world online, safe and secure, to delivering large scale technology infrastructure like the creation of BT Sport.

Today in this fast changing, always on, digital world our purpose remains true. Yet the market conditions, regulation and competition we face are tougher than ever before. So if you have the drive, optimism and resilience to help propel us forward we’ll offer unrivalled personal development, a wealth of opportunities to learn, experience new things and pursue new careers. If that’s you and what you’re looking for, we’d love you to be part of our future.
Why Consumer Digital?

Unprecedented scale and opportunity
BT Consumer is the largest telco in the industry. With over 20k employees and 34 million customers, we generate over £10bn in revenue. This offers enormous opportunities for our people and to be No. 1 in the market. Our Consumer Unit exists as three household brands - BT, EE & Plusnet from which collectively we generate more revenue than any other part of BT. Our brilliant brands are all beautiful individually. Each has unique attributes that cater to very different segments of the market. This makes our goal possible; to create a connection in every home in the UK by 2025.

The Digital Way
There’s never been a more exciting time to join this team – We are re-defining what digital means in BT starting with our mission, how we work and what we deliver which will ultimately lead us to profitable sustainable growth. The core of this is brilliant product development teams that are agile, long lived and fully empowered to own and drive their outcomes. The agile transformation team is not only driving the agile ways of working across the Consumer Digital Teams (CDO & CIO - over 2000 people) it is leading on the strategy and direction for the wider Digital team (c. 11,000 people) and ultimately wider BT Group. We’re investing hundreds of millions of pounds into digital and transforming the way we work to create, not just the best digital experience in the telco market, but something that customers talk about as the best in the UK.

We believe in empowering our digital superheroes to work autonomously as teams, and to rapidly learn and develop the best routes and techniques to creating customer value. We’re founded on the core
idea that we continuously ‘build, measure, and learn’ which allows us to deliver on our purpose: to drive digital thinking and expertise so that together we can create the best experiences that enhance our customers’ lives.

We’ve got something really special here, something we’re all incredibly proud to be part of.
