Role: Digital Content Designer
Salary: From £24,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience
Contract:18 months FTC
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

Jisc is the UK higher, further education and skills sectors’ not-for-profit organisation for digital services and solutions. We believe education and research improves lives, and technology improves education and research.

Our vision is for the UK to be a world leader in technology for education and research and our mission is to power and empower our members with the technology and data they need to succeed. We know that digital technology has the ability to transform the student experience. We have the experience, expertise and know-how to drive that transformation.

About the role:
This role sits in the Student Services marketing team part of the Customer and Sector Enablement directorate at Jisc.

We offer a suite of products across various brands (Prospects, Prospects Hedd, Prospects Luminate and Jisc) to help clients understand their audiences, deliver success, drive applications and ensure those they do hire or enrol on courses have the credentials required. Members, customers and students are at the heart of what we do and we ensure they are represented in all aspects of our work.

As a digitally focussed and social media savvy designer you will be up to date with the latest trends to allow you to bring content to life across multiple channels.

Your role will be to design and deliver a high standard of distinctive and compelling content, in line with briefs and objectives, to enable the organisation to increase brand awareness and engagement across our online platforms. You will have the ability to translate findings from quantitative data and survey results into engaging infographics, diagrams, animations and graphs. Similarly, you will be required to present qualitative, informative content in a memorable format for our audience.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Organising and editing content supplied from different internal teams, implementing the use of relevant brand guidelines. You’ll understand the diversity of users, making sure that content is accessible and inclusive.
  • Design and production of marketing and brand collateral, working on briefs, developing concepts and campaigns as well as working with existing templates ensuring the output is on-brand.
  • Providing high-quality design expertise to ensure the delivery of assets meet all required production specifications.
  • Work in an open, iterative and collaborative way in a multi-disciplinary communications team.
  • Plan own work activities to ensure effective on time service delivery, resolving conflicting timescales and priorities independently.
  • You will act as a Brand Guardian to ensure all marketing collateral has a strong brand identity across B2C and B2B audiences.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, able to manage limited resources effectively.
  • Creative flair and originality.
  • Knowledge of accessible design principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Please refer to the job description for full details.
