Content Assistant | The Career Portal
Full Time | £26K | Central London / Remote (Hybrid Working)
We’re hiring a new Content Assistant for The Career Portal, which owns The Medic Portal and The Lawyer Portal. These are the leading online resources for aspiring doctors and lawyers respectively, with millions of users, 500+ school partnerships and a growing global footprint.
We are a small team but belong to the fastest-growing private education company in the UK (Dukes Education). So you’ll get the benefits and opportunities of small and big company culture at the same time.
You’ll support the Lead Content Editors on both brands, editing and publishing a combination of articles, guides and content produced with clients. You’ll also oversee email and LinkedIn outreach to existing and potential content partners.
Specifically, your main responsibilities will be:
- Editing content written by freelance writers and publishing finished articles
- Briefing freelance writers and answering their queries
- Reaching out to potential content partners to boost content-generated revenue streams

The ideal candidate will have:
- Some experience in a content role
- Good editing skills, with strong attention to detail
- Excellent self-organisation
- Experience using WordPress or a similar CMS
- A basic understanding of SEO
- Great communication skills
- An interest in the commercial potential of great content
Some experience with Law or Medicine would be valuable but is not essential.
