Job Title: Dietician
Grade: Band 7
Trust: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Prestwich Hospital - Junction 17 CAHMS Unit
Ward: Griffin, Phoenix & Gardener Wards
Hours: 15 Hours per Week, 2x days Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Pay Rate: Day - £22.40 P/H, BH - £35.84 P/H
We are seeking a qualified Dietician to join the team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, for a 3 month period - with possibility of extension.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a specialist case load of patients with complex nutritional and psychiatric needs, using evidence based and person centred principles, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment
- Taking responsibility in planning, developing and evaluating the dietetic service within the CAMHS and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the service
- Managing resources within clinical and professional area with minimal supervision e.g. staff, nutritional products and equipment
- Actively support the GMMH Dietetics Lead, and contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust wide dietetic services and health promotion activities
- Providing leadership to junior staff through leadership and appraisal
- Contributing to menu planning, collaboratively with chefs, patients, food service and managers
- Ensuring the menu meets the ethically, cultural and health needs of all our client groups
- Ensuring that the food choices meet national nutritional standards
- Leading in the development of care plans and training tools for both staff and young people
- Developing, implementing and monitoring any divisional service level agreement
- Ensuring that the therapeutic diets as prescribed by the Dietitians are delivered to the patients
- Training staff to provide good meal time care
To be successful for this role, you will need:
- B.Sc. (hons.) or a post graduate diploma in Dietetics
- M.Sc. in a health-related subject
- Registration with HCPC
- Highly specialist clinical knowledge in CAMHS
