Job description
Do you have a passion for Nutrition? Are you interested in working alongside registered dietitians to provide care and support to in-patients at Harrogate Hospital? We have a permanent vacancy within our small, friendly team for someone who wants to expand on their existing experience while providing patient centred nutritional care to frail elderly patients, post-surgical patients and those who are getting ready for discharge home.
The wider dietetic department offers excellent support for professional development and participates in the training of student dietitians on A, B and C placements and have recently been awarded Team of The Month at HDFT.
The post is based at Harrogate District Hospital which is a 400 bed, friendly hospital located in a thriving, attractive spa town, close to the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. The cities of Leeds and Bradford and historic York and Ripon are all within commuting distance. It is a high performing NHS Foundation Trust.
Work alongside the registered dietitians to support ward staff with the implementation of nutritional care plans.
Work within a protocol to initiate oral nutrition support for ward based patients.
Support with discharge of patients requiring prescriptions for oral nutritional supplements and / or enteral feeding equipment.
