Job description
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to come and join our team of community Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants, based at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital in Derby.
Visits to community hospitals will be required as part of this role and so a car driver is desirable.
Key requirements of the role are a keen interest in food and nutrition, good communication skills, good organisational skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and experience of working within a similar setting with the general public. You should also be able to demonstrate good IT and presentation skills.
Although no formal nutrition qualifications are required, you should have 3 A levels or equivalent level 3 qualification. A care certificate would be desirable. You will be required to undertake ongoing continuous professional development.
Specific tasks will include gathering of relevant patient information, contributing to the dietetic care of inpatients (community hospitals) and outpatients (care homes and clinics), giving talks as required. On a day to day basis you will liaise with catering services, nursing staff and other health care professionals as well as members of the department. You will assist in audit and service development.
You will be supported in all activities by the Dietitians and other Dietetic Assistants.
