We are currently recruiting for a Costing Data Analyst to join Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS foundation Trust Financial Developments and costing team.
With the approaching implementation of RBH finance could system and the EPIC electronic patient record system, the Trust progresses to a more digital service. This is an exciting opportunity for a Costing Data Analyst to play a key role in the use of modern and innovative, professional tools and processes to support improvements in the quality and utilisation of cost and patient activity data.
The successful candidate will maintain existing systems and development of new processes, which leverage the opportunities that the EPIC and Finance system provide. They will ensure that the required data and information flows, continue to remain robust and fit for purpose. The post holder will work closely with the informatics and the Productivity team to ensure that the information is reconcilable to those published and used by different stakeholders.
This role requires candidates to have strong technical and database system skills. They should be able to engage and influence both Finance and non-finance colleagues internal and external to the Trust and able to explain complex guidance or processes to all types of audience.
This is a hybrid working role. Successful candidates will be expected to spend some of their hours in the office.
The role is responsible for producing timely, accurate and transparent service line and costing information.
The post holder is primarily responsible for supporting and maintaining the Trust’s costing system, in particular working with clinicians, managers, finance colleagues and the information team in order to develop the ownership and accuracy of both standard and fully absorbed unit costs. The individual will be highly proficient with using software applications such as MS SQL, MS Excel, Access and various BI tools and should have some knowledge of costing. Experience working with and analysing large datasets and databases is a crucial.
The post holder will be a part of the Trusts Developments and Costing team and will be working in a niche field within Finance. There will be opportunity to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across the Trust including finance professionals, performance colleagues, clinicians, operational managers and performance improvement teams in order to deliver a timely, robust and relevant patient activity and cost system that provides insight and intelligence to support and aid operational and strategic decisions.
