We have an opportunity for a Development Technologist to join our Development team in Hamilton.

The Development Technologist will work as part of the development team to develop and innovate new products and processes. Ensuring our bakery products are produced and delivered effectively to the satisfaction of our customers. They will work as part of our development team to deliver to both internal and external customers to a high standard.

This is a fast paced role, where the successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills. They will have worked in a similar development position, where they would have gained experience in developing new products and recording all required information to generate accurate costings. With great attention to detail, they will have to present facts and ideas clearly and accurately to customers in a supporting role.

This role is based in Hamilton, however a willingness to travel is required as the Development Technologist may occasionally visit our other sites.

This is what you’ll actually do!
As the Development technologist you will have a creative mindset and use recipe management systems to generate all key recipe information and costings in line with the commercial targets. As well as support the co-ordination of all relevant input/output information to review with eh relevant teams.
You will support the development team in all aspects of delivering the development cycle. Is abreast of comparative products from all retailers and captures and communicates relevant changes and newness. Has a good understanding of relevant product development criteria.

Ideally this is you!

  • Degree preferred Food science / technology or similar degree / HND equivalent or relevant experience
  • Knowledge and interest of Food
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate – computer skills and knowledge of word and excel systems
  • Driving license
  • Basic or above Food hygiene
