Job description

At BARB we want our Development Director to support our teams by inspiring them, championing good practices and offering a calm and clear presence when things get hot.
As a Development Director at BARB you will be expected to bring software and game development experience, curiosity, and flexibility to find the right solution for our teams to excel. You will be able to demonstrate a depth of knowledge of game development software processes and have experienced all of the excitement that game development provides. We want to feel the passion you have for communication and organisation along with the ability to reflect a calm, patient presence in an fast paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Guide, empower and inspire your team
  • Support the planning and delivery of software
  • Report consistently on your teams status and any risks
  • Understand and communicate the relationships between the team, their goals and the wider project
  • Find and support the best delivery methodology for your team
  • Be present in meetings representing your team with clear and confident communication

Requirements:

  • Provable project management experience within a creative industry
  • Excellent understanding of a creative software life cycle
  • Demonstrable knowledge of planning, scheduling and tracking techniques
  • Ability to inspire and communicate effectively at all levels of a business
