Waveney Development Co-ordinator

30 hours per week £26,844 pro rata (£21,765)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Suffolk Family Carers in delivering an excellent service to family carers in and around the Waveney area.

This role will involve building strong relationships within the local community as well as working directly with family carers to increase and enhance the support on offer to family carers within the region.

This is a part time position of 30 hours a week on a fixed term contract until March 2026. This a hybrid role, based from within the Waveney region, with time split between working from home and out within the local community.

As our Waveney Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

· Mapping key services in the Waveney area for family carers and the person they support, developing an understanding of the Norfolk/Suffolk border challenges

· Identifying funding opportunities in response to need in collaboration with partners and line manager

· Developing good working relationships with GP practices and the use of the GP Framework

· Attending appropriate meetings and ‘be the voice of Family Carers’ in the Waveney area

· Developing relationships with employers, care agencies, pharmacies, seldom heard communities and the wider community to identify carers and provide appropriate support in line with the Waveney project plan

· Directly supporting family carers by providing information, advice, guidance and emotional support

Ideally, we are looking for someone with the following key skills, knowledge and experience, however, even if you don’t quite have all of it, please do still apply.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills, with the ability to relate to all people

· Analytical, creative and problem solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions

· Confident presentation skills

· Experience of giving information, advice and guidance

· An understanding of the impact of the caring role

· Ability to effectively monitor and evaluate working practices alongside and with support from the Project Manager

· Community Development Experience (desirable)

· Experience of working in the community to improve wellbeing (desirable)

· Experience of identifying suitable funding opportunities (desirable)

Due to the nature of this role you will need to have the ability to travel between rural locations as required.

This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will be carried out following acceptance of any offer made to the successful candidate
