We are looking for an experienced web developer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will involve working within the secured resources team who work closely with Legal and General’s customers, such as Barclays, TSB, Sainsbury’s and Nationwide. Reporting into a senior developer, you will be a key component of our agile development team, working on building and maintaining industry leading customer journeys.
- Writing well designed, structured, testable code based upon industry and development best practices.
- Maintaining, updating and continuously developing deployed solutions.
- Integrating front-end, backend, API and databased systems and services.
- Ensuring the quality of your developed solutions by writing comprehensive automated tests.
- Interpreting software requirements and translating those into developed solutions.
- Defining code development processes within the development team.
- Creating and maintain software documentation.
- Being aware of emerging new technologies.
- Taking part in and fully adopting the Agile methodology.
Weekly
- Working as a team, achieve goals by completing small, manageable, well-defined tasks using a scrum / sprint methodology.
- Attending and contributing to Scrum ceremonies.
- Flag issues and raise concerns which may impede workflow.
- Engage with other teams or parts of the business to share knowledge, refine tasks and eliminate unknowns.
- Provide technical support to a wide range of IT users and proficiencies.
Monthly
- Periodically, meet with your line manager to review targets, performance, and needs.
- Participate in technical stand-ups with development team.
Annually
- Meet agreed objectives between you and your line manager.
- Attend training courses relevant to your role or solutions.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications
- Proven experience working in web development.
- Familiarity of at least one Java Script programming language.
- A solid understanding of security and development best practices.
- An understanding of relational database systems and code management solutions.
- Experience driving Agile Operational Strategy forward.

- This is a full-time Monday to Friday role with flexible working on average 37.5 hours per week.
