Job Description
DevOps Engineer - Vault - Everyday Banking Platform
Location: Manchester based with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week
Salary & Benefits: £61,176.00 - £71,411.00 GBP base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

About the team
We are on a mission to build the bank of the future, and we need your help to do it! Continuing our extensive transformation programme, we're redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Our technology, our culture, and our mind-set is changing to craft a true engineering-led organisation.
You will be part of Everyday Banking in Consumer Relationships Platform working in the Vault Banking Products lab. The lab is focusing on building new core banking platform that will support servicing our customers through multiple channels and will enable the bank to create new innovative products for our customers using cutting edge cloud based technology platform.
About the role
As a Senior DevOps in our team, you will be:
  • Working with the most modern technology including Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Kafka, Microservices and more
  • Defining and establishing processes and tools to support new banking platform through pilot phases and go live
  • Building and mentoring team to perform support of the new core banking platform
  • Building, creating and supporting all environments including production hosting on container based cloud platforms
  • Defining new deployment, recovery and resilience solutions including multi-region deployment
  • Liaising and collaborating with other teams including security, cloud engineering and compliance to ensure guardrails are followed and contributed wherever needed
  • Automating as much as possible of the building environments, monitoring and support function with the modern toolset and technologies to improve reliability and productivity
  • Working in an agile environment, alongside colleagues from both LBG and third party companies, both on and off-shore
  • Creating opportunities for your own learning and growth, as well as sharing finding with your peers
Who we're looking for...
The successful candidate for the Senior DevOps role will be able to demonstrate experience in supporting live platforms, ability to navigate a large organisation and liaise with other teams including infrastructure teams and third parties to investigate incidents, experience working with and building cloud and container based platforms and environments, ability to work independently and to mentor junior team members.
