Urban Planters - Designer
Key Information
Basic salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience

We now have a carbon negative business who’s teams install planting in, on and around the buildings of the companies we partner with. We are happiest while we are landscaping, installing indoor planting schemes or maintaining the plants or grounds of our clients.
Permanent: A full time role, working Monday to Friday (43.5 hr week)
Location: Join the team based in Derbyshire
The Role
You will work primarily for the Midlands, North and Scotland areas and will be expected to attend site visits and meetings at locations throughout the UK when required.
The Designer role provides a design service for all aspects of the External Landscape Services Business area including production, delivery and consultancy to other parties. You will be responsible for services within soft landscaping, planting schemes, plans and specifications, basic hard landscaping plans, green wall planning and planting schemes, basic bespoke construction plans for joiner and third parties, visual communication, 2D Design work including CGI imagery and illustrations to support the sales process.
As a Designer, you will be a consultant on design and horticulture to all parts of the business as and when required.
Your main duties will include:
- Manage the Designer workflow to aid the delivery of sensible and reasonable workload across multiple concurrent workflows
- Design and specify soft landscaping schemes across a variety of commercial and residential projects
- Design and conceptualise hard landscaping schemes across a variety of commercial and residential projects
- Create CGI visuals to support and aid the sales process including CGI images, illustrations, AutoCAD drawings and other software mixes
- Create PPT and other formatted presentations to sell in the concept and detail planning of each project
- Support presentations of these projects as part of the sales process
- Create first draft BOQs for review including sourcing costs and conditions of installation
- Create plant specification and source these through third party suppliers
- Provide a consultancy roles as a specialist in all aspects of horticulture
- Key contributor to monthly franchise newsletter
- Informed in sales targets, progress and sales results
- Informed role in ordering and installation process
- Support the External landscaping business with any reasonable requests to aid in the development and growth of the business
- Drive integration of sustainability, biodiversity and carbon positive practices
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in Garden Design is essential and you must have able to demonstrate your work via a portfolio
