Job Description

As Junior Designer you will be working with the rest of the design and operations teams and requires you to be detail oriented with excellent layout and proofing skills and have experience with print production and pre-print processes.

You will work closely with our Production and Sales Colleagues and must be able to work with multiple projects and be able to perform within tight deadlines.

Main Job Duties

As a Junior Designer you will report directly into the Design Manager and be responsible for the Design function.

· Create mock-ups and layouts for specific printed projects.

· Execute revisions as necessary.

· Proficient with relevant design related programs including Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, InDesign.

· Quality Control and Pantone check on products.

· Create and prepare style guides.

· Follow approvals of all art work to scale. Provide web ready artwork support and CADs for factory specifications.

· Liaison with printing team

· Operate in house design machinery as and when required

· Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.

· Able to juggle multiple projects at one time.

· Problem solve technical issues.

· Ability to learn and utilise new technology quickly and accurately as it pertains to our business.

Desirable

A good understanding of print methods, in particular screen printing and an understanding of its limitations. (Training will be offered).

Any experience with digital printing and packaging design is also desirable.

Your responsibilities

· Coordinate and execute the creation of commercially viable colour and print

· Fully carryout all admin aspects of print design sending print packs that are correct/ exact, putting prints into commercial sizes, pleasing up prints, re-colouring and maintaining a print archive.

· Reporting to the Design Manager on all tasks and picking up extra work when required.

· Strong creative ability with ideas that can help with business development.

· Generating digital marketing materials, including email and social media campaigns.

· Creating convincing mock ups and visuals to illustrate how a finished product will look that can then be used in promotional materials.

· Working to established guidelines across all of BIDBI’s brands.

· Creation of print collateral such as brochures and flyers, as well as working with the sales team to establish conceptual designs for visual presentation at tradeshows.

· Setting up artwork for print, maintaining a high level of vigilance to identify potential issues.

· Able to balance small day-to-day tasks alongside larger projects with effective time management.

· Communicating clearly with the rest of the design team and other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
