The role of the Designer – Timber Structures will involve:
The role of the Designer – Timber Structures will involve:
- Designer position dealing with a range of timber frame projects for main contractors and house builders
- Prepare 3D design drawings for timber structures, connections and interface details
- Producing 2D drawings for each project stage including: arrangement drawings, detail drawings and fabrication drawings
- Ensure that all designs meet the client requirements so that offsite manufacturing can take place
- Liaise regularly with architects, engineers, and contractors providing excellent customer service
- Work closely with internal departments providing support and resolving queries
- Ensure designs meet quality standards, building regulations, and H&S requirements
- Working on projects varying in value from £250,000 to circa £2m
- Must have design experience within the construction industry, ideally dealing with timber frame / timber structures / timber construction
- Must have experience working with Rhino3D and Grasshopper
- Ideally will have other software experience such as: Revit, AutoCAD, CS Suite etc
- Would be a suitable role for a Timber Designer, Draughtsperson, Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist
- Must be comfortable working remotely
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Excellent communicator written and verbally
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
