Job description
Reporting to the Design Manager and COO, this person will be tasked with designing and developing custom garments which will be distributed through lttstore.com and other online marketplaces. This person must strive to maintain a high standard of quality, bring creative vision to the team and help to streamline communication with offshore suppliers. The Senior Designer's job duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
Duties:
- Create mock ups to present new design ideas or to represent ideas brought forward by the team
- Help to maintain product based calendar to ensure products are being released in a timely manner
- Guide other team members through design and development process as needed
- Work with fit & product development teams to maintain accurate sampling procedures
- Participate in fit sessions to ensure all products are developed to meet fit and quality standards
- Help to create and maintain bill of materials for garments and ensure commercial viability
- Coordinate with overall merchandise team to turn ideas & concepts into finished goods
- Coordinate with suppliers & internal teams to bring products to mass market
Job Requirements:
- Expert understanding of colour, textiles, trims, cut & sew construction, sewing techniques and graphic applications
- Education in fashion design or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in designing fashion goods
- Ability to adhere to strict timelines and delivery deadlines to meet quarterly release schedule
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and project management software
- Experience communicating with overseas suppliers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at different stages on the go without micromanagement
- Ability to communicate well with co-workers and clients
- Must be motivated, able to work independently, and hard-working
- Professional communication skills, both written and spoken, are a MUST
- Ability to take constructive criticism and excel with it
- Candidates with a strong portfolio of past designs are preferred
