Design & Technology Technician

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £20,812 - £21,575

(This salary will be pro-rata according to hours/weeks worked)

8.30am – 3.30pm Monday - Friday, term-time plus all INSET days

( Requests for Part Time will also be considered)

We are seeking a Technician to join our Design and Technology Department who will support students and staff in the workshop/classroom. The role involves preparation of workshops and materials for lessons, maintenance of tools and machinery and a knowledge of the skills and practices needed to support students in practical tasks e.g. cutting, shaping, joining and finishing in a range of materials.

The ideal candidate will be working alongside staff and students in lessons, to ensure that the learning experience and environment is appropriately organised, creative, and challenging. They should therefore have:

· Experience and a genuine interest in product design and design technology (in a range of materials).

· Excellent organisational and communication skills.

· Be a team player who wants to contribute to the continued success of our Design and Technology faculty.

· Have high expectations of students in supporting them to achieve their potential.
