About this role
In this job, you’ll be accountable for crafting and leading content that meets user needs but also business goals.
You will be the content design lead for BT’s consumer design system. Responsible for driving forward our ways of working, coaching others in the team and supporting the managers, whilst excelling as an individual contributor to ensure we have a happy team, great products and happy customers. You will be a key consultation point across the team and a proactive member of the department.
The role presents a real opportunity to hone your content design craft and have a meaningful impact on the consumer division of BT.
Full time, with 3 days per week together onsite in one of our UK Digital Hubs (with flexible 2 days wherever)

You'll have the following responsibilities
- Full accountability for defining the digital content within the design system and considering the impact on all initiatives across the digital channels and BT squads.
- You will engage with the design and development communities, user researchers and leadership, as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure our content is evidence based, user centred and continuously optimised.
- Define and ensure implementation of governance over content quality across the design system squad
- Ownership of guidance for all design system components, foundations and patterns. Distilling facts from subject matter experts and using specialist content design skills to present the facts in the most digestible and usable formats.
- Accountable for setting the direction and prioritisation of content design within the design system team
- Provide direction and support to the content designers within the squad
- Working closely with leadership to align the design system with priorities and strategy for content design within BT
- You will ensure any CMS building and uploading of content is completed in a robust, secure and consistent manner.
- Ambassador for content design best practice, being a point of contact for the community and responding to need for guidance
You'll have the following skills & experience
- Proven track record in user centred content strategy and creation.
- Preferred experience working with AGILE multi-disciplined teams (user researchers, product owners, designers
- Preferred experience working on or with a design system, or experience leading creation of style guides or guidance for content design
- Extensive experience in content design, with a proven record of using and guiding best practice
- Experienced in driving forward content strategy and prioritising high priority user and business needs.
