A unique opportunity has arisen to apply your expertise, knowledge, and skills as Head of Design for the Capital Delivery Service. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with a desire to make a difference.
The Capital Delivery Service employs 100 staff in a variety of management, technical and professional roles and is responsible for a wide range of capital building and infrastructure projects and programmes. These cover minor capital maintenance works to major new build and area regeneration schemes ranging from £100k to £50m. The Service is split into five separate teams: Project Delivery, Design, Procurement and Cost Management, Framework Management, and a capital Programme Management Office.
You will need the appetite to work collaboratively, leading a professional construction multi-disciplinary design consultancy. The Design Team in the Capital Delivery Service at Sheffield City Council consists of a strong team of nearly 40 individuals who sit within Architectural, Landscape, Building Services, Civils and Structures, Health and Safety and Work Assurance. You will be accountable for the resourcing and development of design outputs and leading and embedding industry best practice across design management for the Service.
