Joining SP Energy Networks as Communications and Design Manager you will play a key role in the project team with responsibility for the development and delivery of a communication programme across the SP Energy Networks business and to wider stakeholders. You will work in close collaboration with our Communications, Stakeholder and Regulatory teams delivering internal and external communications strategies and campaigns while also taking on the responsibility for the production and co-ordination of all supporting communication materials ensuring the delivery of clear, consistent, and effective communications to a range of audiences helping to achieve key business objectives.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be creating and ultimately delivering a strategic stakeholder communications strategy for internal and external audiences, including employees, consumers, and key influential stakeholders. You’ll champion the creation of high-quality standardised material to provide consistent messaging and narratives to selected target audiences.


We’re looking for someone who can provide solutions and know-how, producing content for regulatory business plans and key submissions, key stakeholder publications, independent groups, stakeholder newsletters, as required by the business. Someone who can provide direction and assistance to business leaders to ensure key strategic and operational messages are delivered, understood and effectively cascaded across the business and to external parties as part of a regulatory process and beyond.


You will have a flair for content creation and design, able to create compelling promotional media such as videos, leaflets and beyond to support our vision and position for internal and external purposes.Results focussed, we want to you to measure the effectiveness of communications - striving to continually improve and act on results and feedback.


You’ll actively manage, develop, and maintain a range of communication channels (intranet, website, webinars, events, printed materials, videos, etc).

What you’ll bring

  • You can bring creativity, with an eye for good design principles. You’ll bring a proven track record of developing and delivering complex internal and external communications strategies, an ability to professionally design high quality materials and experience of writing coherent business documents for varied audiences
  • You will be professionally qualified to degree level in communications, or a related field, and have years of experience operating in a communications manager role
  • Strong experience working in a marketing and communications environment, developing strategy level materials using multimedia channels of delivery
  • Strong demonstrable experience of creating, managing and delivering fully integrated media/marketing campaigns across all media channels to deliver against communications objectives aligned to business goals
  • You will have a sharp eye for detail and keen focus on monitoring and measurement techniques ensuring overall success and delivery of your communications objectives
  • You have worked extensively across a variety of audiences, with solid experience of audience insight, developing communications strategy and translating into operational delivery
  • Strong demonstrable project management skills with ability to plan, organise and deliver external and business-wide communication plans, ensuring that the overall plan maintains momentum and achieves objectives
  • You will have a proven ability to lead and manage the delivery of communication interventions across a large and complex organisation alongside an excellent ability to develop and deliver high quality written and multimedia communications materials targeted across a diverse range of both internal and external audiences
  • Results focused, with the ability to maintain momentum and achieve objectives when faced with obstacles, conflicts and competing demands
