Assistant Design Manager
Guildford
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Design Manager to join the team at Galliford Try.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Guildford area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
What you will be doing:
- Build effective working relationships throughout the business, up to and including Director level.
- Develop relationships with internal and external customers.
- Promote a culture of inclusive customer service and equal opportunities, to exemplify and promote Galliford Try.
- To implement and comply with Galliford Try’s SHE policy and procedures, all legal requirements, and best practice within the business unit and areas.
- Support the achievement of the annual financial budget (operating profit) for the business unit.
- Assist the team to manage the process of designing solutions.
- Assist the team in conducting ‘value engineering’.
- Assist the Design Manager to propose resources for projects.
- Assist the Design Manager to implement functional policies.
- Assist the Design Manager to support the generation of tenders.
- Support the winning of contracts while minimising risk and maximising gross profit.
- Manage the design process for tender, as directed.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of external and internal customers and to contribute to achieving the greatest possible satisfaction for all customers in all their dealings with Galliford Try’s.
- Assist the Design Manager to propose the design solution for tenders.
- Assist the Design Manager to conduct value engineering.
- Implement Galliford Try’s policies and procedures.
- Implement best practice.
About You:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be positive, enthusiastic and personable - a team player.
- Be pro-active, organised and professional.
- Willingness to travel and ability to manage own time.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work and communicate at all levels in a way that encourages two-way communication both written and verbal. Comfortable with both groups and individuals.
- High level of computer literacy.
