SEVERN TRENT
Full Time 36000 - 43000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Which is why we are investing over £2billion into construction projects over the next five years to improve the services we provide.

Here at Severn Trent Water we are on a very exciting journey!

Do you have experience working with clean water networks? Are you an Assistant Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you like working in a fast paced and challenging environment? We have a wide range of clean water infrastructure work going in our team and we can offer you technical exposure and skills you need to progress your career. Would you like to build your career in a place where you can grow?

Well, if you are, read on.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

To do this role you will ideally have experience of working with or designing clean water networks and an understanding of CDM regulations in design process. Initially you will provide support to Senior & Principal Engineers to deliver project to programme, within budget, to the correct quality standards.

To do this role you will need to work to CDM 2015, understand STW H+S standards, as well as acting as principal designer on small projects. You will build, drive & manage your own programme and deliver to agreed timescales. You will be designing clean water networks and working with hydraulic modellers to optimise designs with carbon reduction in mind. You will prepare key deliverable documents and undertake site visits, attend and input at site meetings and develop and build relationships. You will engage with & influence stakeholders and engage in third party liaison, whilst working with minimal supervision. You will need an understanding of hydraulics within a water system and pipe connectivity. You will learn and deliver to current regulations and mentor assistant engineers and technicians

You’ll take projects right through from project inception through optioneering, outline and detailed design straight into construction.

The solutions you develop will change as we look forward to the future, adapting to business and environmental needs initially you`ll focus on less complex and low risk projects and you`ll be supported in every way of your journey to grow and to do more.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Of course it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We want people who show up and roll their sleeves up. Restless spirits who are ready to be part of something bigger, who care, who really care... because when you really care, you’ll go above and beyond. When you really care you don’t just talk about it, you do more.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.

We do more, because we care.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

It’s not just a job you’ll get here, you’ll get a career too. We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential.
