Job description

The Design Engineer will support new application tooling development projects as well as modification and extension activities for legacy products from concept through commercialization while meeting or exceeding product, scheduling and budget requirements to generate revenue and growth for the business unit. This individual will interface with peers, management and customers as required.
What You Will Do
- Leads application tooling design efforts using the Product Development Process fro product concept through production tooling release.
- Interfaces with product engineering to provide a manufacturable, cost-effective tooling solutions for Molex customers.
- Provides technical support to customers, supplier and inside personnel.
- Coordinates project activities with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality using the engineering change request (EC) procedures.
- Performs design verification activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer and UL requirements. Checks manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Quality Management, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in modeling experience to generate 3D models & 2D drawings
- Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with Minor courses or degree in Electrical Engineering
- Siemens NX & Teamcenter experience
- Design experience of interconnect products and/or application tooling
- Material and manufacturing knowledge of electromechanical products such as connectors or switches
- Excel Visual Basic or Macros
- Smartsheet
