Job description
This is a junior-level creative graphic design role.
The primary purpose of this role, within the Marketing & Communications team, is to assist in the production of high quality and creative print and digital marketing materials/assets that enhance the firm's corporate and employer brand. It assists Marketing & Communications and the broader Business Development department with the design and implementation of marketing and communications materials relating to advertising, external campaigns, internal campaigns, events, newsletters, pursuits documents, social media, photography, film and video.
The role reports into the Design Advisor and contributes to the continued evolution of the brand's visual identity, keeping it fresh, contemporary and reflective of the growing firm. It will assist in acting as a guardian of the firm's visual identity, ensuring correct branding and in-house style, including applying guidelines for its consistent application across all publications, advertisements and marketing collateral produced inside and outside of the firm.
Team
Kennedys' global Business Development team promotes Kennedys' services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets.
The UK BD team consists of the following sub-teams: Clients & Markets, Client Development Systems, Pursuits and Marketing & Communications, which encompasses, Brand & Design, Content Marketing/Publications and Campaign Planning, Digital, External and Internal Communications and Events.
The majority of the Business Development team is located in London, but we also have a BD presence in ten other offices, in the UK and globally. This role supports a number of our international programmes, bids and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Design Advisor, Digital Design Advisor, Marketing Team and wider BD Department, in the production and management of all branded marketing and communications materials for the firm.
- Help to ensure that we bring our brand to life in terms of designing and producing content that is on brand, consistent, high quality and distinctive, to help what we do stand out.
- Work with the marketing team (and wider BD Department) with the art-working of printed literature (brochures, flyers, adverts and display materials), digital content, reports & presentations and promotional items, all within the parameters of brand guidelines.
- Help the Digital Design Advisor to further develop and expand the team's digital design capability, to include the creation of social media posts, online banners and adverts, interactive pdfs and graphics, animated PPTs and other types of animations etc, and the production of digital assets for use on the corporate website and the firm's intranet. Assist in the art direction of professional photographic and video shoots.
- Assist in the management of the design and development of templates where required, and update pre-designed templates through to finished print-ready artwork.
- Help the Pursuits team with branded documents and imagery to support bids, and with the creation of bespoke infographics, structure charts, presentations and placemats.
- Alongside the Marketing Executive and/or Assistant, work with the international BD/Marketing Leads, and the firm's Document Production team and secretarial community locally, to support the adoption and ongoing use of branded templates, e.g. in PowerPoint and Word. Assist in ensuring that standard design templates and tools are followed to deliver consistent branded materials internally and externally.
Required experience
- Graphic Design qualification.
- 2+ years of relevant experience within a creative role (advantageous if within a professional services environment and/or with professional services brands).
- Excellent knowledge and user of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro. Skills also in other apps within the creative suite a distinct advantage.
- Excellent IT skills in the MS Office environment, including the ability to use Word and PowerPoint to a high level.
- Experience using other 'creative' software/apps (Canva, for example) advantageous.
- Good knowledge of brand - what it is and why it is important.
- A well-developed sense for, and appreciation of, visual identity and good impactful design.
- Precision-focused, with pixel-perfect accuracy when creating or updating design files.
- Good print/production knowledge.
- Creative approach to meeting challenges and opportunities.
- Strong time management skills. A self-starter, determined and methodical.
- Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads, working under pressure and negotiating tight deadlines for fast turnarounds where necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a great attention to detail including the ability to check copy for brand and house style adherence.
- Team player, with an optimistic attitude. Pleasant, professional manner at all times. Able to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships at all levels within the firm.
- Enthusiastic, positive and keen to innovate. Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with change.
- Able to work autonomously and remotely, without constant supervision; and the ability to 'own' projects, drive them forward and deliver on time.
- In-house experience of working in a professional services, partnership, financial services or corporate environment.
- Previous experience of working within both a small immediate team and a large extended team.
- Comfortable working in a non-directive environment.
- Experience of co-ordinating supplier/vendor relationships.
