Your role

Do you have a knack for working to deadlines in process driven and high volume environment? Are you accurate with good attention to detail? Do you ask questions if you're not sure how to proceed? If so, we’re looking for someone like you who can help us:

  • Action the accurate & timely booking and cash settlement of security, OTC, FX & money market transactions.
  • Pre-agree settlement of any lifecycle events on the products managed.
  • Interact with counterparties and agents to confirm transactions.
  • Oversee intra and end of day control reporting ensuring accuracy and resolution is completed on a timely basis.
  • Evaluate and report the UBS Jersey Branch daily risk limits.
  • Manage the timely reconciliation of cash accounts and trade confirmations versus counterparties.
  • Resolve complex technical breaks in a timely basis.
  • Manage queries and ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Detect and escalate risk in the area of business.
  • Collate & report Management Information Statistics & outstanding risk metrics to multiple risk departments and senior management.
  • Identify process improvements and work with colleagues to implement efficiency & control.

Your team

You will be working in the Derivatives Middle Office team, a small and friendly team, within Jersey Operations. The team is working out of the brand new modern building at the Jersey Financial Centre, and has close links with many areas of the bank in other locations. This will give you exposure to multiple facets of banking operations and you'll work with your line manager and also with Business Partners and Stakeholders, both in Jersey and internationally.

Your expertise

You have:
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working within an Operational Treasury or Settlements processing environment.
  • The ability to process high volume workflow with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The compentency to identify and anticipate Risk and Issues.
  • The capability to take ownership of and remediate problems.
  • Good interpsersonal skills with the ability to communicate well with colleagues and stakeholders verbally or in report format.
  • An aptitude for working within a team to achieve deadlines.
  • An understanding of operational risk, and the capacity to escalate issues in line with procedures.
  • The behaviours to collaborate across teams to achieve a shared outcome.

You are:
  • A technically savvy team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Adaptable, able to work across multiple processes, maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
  • Able to ask questions and challenge in a respectful and courteous way.
  • Focus on the task at hand, with an ability to plan and prioritize your own workloads.
  • Confident to escalate issues in line with procedures.
  • Keen to progress and undertake a relevant professional qualification.
