Job Title: Derby College Students’ Union Manager
Job Location: Across all Derby College sites
Reference: DCSU
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Monday – Friday
Closing date: Sunday 16th July 2023

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Students’ Union Manager to join Derby College Group’s Student Union based across all Derby College sites.
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional who is ready to deliver an outstanding experience to our students, who will be responsible for the overall management and strategic development of the Students’ Union.
Role Responsibilities:
- The development of a Derby College Students’ Union strategy
- Ensuring all Derby College students have a voice through student representation systems, are listened to and have the opportunity to influence student life
- Acting as a source of continuity within the Students’ Union and the primary point for the SU Executive Committee, working strategically with the Trustee Board
- Responsible for operational and financial management, with timely reporting to the Trustee Board to enable effective decision making.
- Maintain good networks and communication channels with Derby College staff, other Student Unions and external bodies and promote the benefits of the student union to the College community.
About You
- Knowledge and understanding of students’ union activities.
- Knowledge of developing effective methods for student and/or volunteer engagement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to manage conflict.
- Understanding of the key issues students face in colleges.
