Deputy Property and Health & Safety Manager - Stirling

At Hostelling Scotland we have some amazing buildings, however, with these buildings comes a lot of maintenance and upkeep. This is where you would come in.
About the role:
To work with the Property team to ensure Health and Safety compliance. To plan, arrange and oversee routine maintenance of all Hostelling Scotland properties. To support Director of Property and H&S with all stages of project work being carried out throughout the Hostelling Scotland network.
- Responsibility for Health & Safety of guests, staff and contractors while in Hostelling Scotland Properties, escalating risk to the Director of Property and H&S
- In conjunction with the Property Team maintain all compliance paperwork in relation to H&S and ensure all inspections and maintenance is carried out within timeframes
- Fire safety management for Head Office including carrying our regular fire drills
- Conduct regular property maintenance surveys inspecting the exterior and interior of properties
- When required, act as project lead for capital and maintenance project works
- Manage contractors and suppliers in line with Hostelling Scotland processes
- In partnership with the Property Co-ordinator, maintain records for vehicles, including weekly checks etc.
- Ensure that works are carried out to budget. When contracts are agreed, they are the most cost effective while still providing quality results and energy efficient solutions
- Liaise with all appropriate professional advisors, agencies, local authorities, communities and contractors as appropriate for all work or projects undertaken
- General office duties
- Any other reasonable duties in line with your job role as directed by the Director of Property
Due to the nature of the role, the post holder is required to travel extensively throughout Scotland and will require when necessary overnight stays and on occasion working weekends or out of normal office hours.
- You must have a valid, clean and full UK driving license.
