Deputy Home Manager
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support our flagship home in Otterbourne.
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN), with experience of working in a Care home at a senior level.
What will I be doing?
Reporting to the Home Manager, supporting them in carrying out the full duties of the post. The key focus of the role will require you to:
- Provide temporary relief in the absence of the manager in a Home, carrying out the full duties of the post;
- Carry out specific projects within a service, or more generally for the organisation, as specified by the Chief Operating Officer/Head of Care Services.
- Work closely with the Care & Nursing Team, relatives and other agencies to ensure person-centred care plans are in place that put the individual at the centre of all interactions, ensuring dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
- Carry out duties in accordance with NMC guidelines, leading the Care & Nursing Team on shift and providing clinical leadership, practice development, feedback and reflection to Registered Nurses and Care Assistants as well as new and developing members of staff.
What do I need to have to apply?
- Post qualification experience as an RGN/RMN and currently registered with NMC;
- Previous managerial experience of leading a care team in the care of older people, or related social care setting;
- Have evidence of continuing professional development;
- Have a working knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to Care Homes;
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;
- Demonstrate the ability to lead, support and motivate a dedicated care team;
- The ability to take responsibility for the safeguarding of older people;
- Commitment to the ongoing training and development of your team.
- You must be able to travel between Care Homes
- Awareness of best dementia care practice is highly desirable for this role.
