FOCHRIW PRIMARY SCHOOL
DEPUTY HEADTEACHER (L05 to L09)
To commence 1st September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter (pending safeguarding clearance)
Applications are invited from dynamic, experienced and suitably qualified Teachers for the post of Deputy Headteacher of this successful Primary School. The school provides education for boys and girls between the ages of three and eleven.
Fochriw Primary School is Caerphilly Borough’s only rural school located in the village of Fochriw in the Upper Rhymney Valley. Fochriw has close travel links to Bargoed and Merthyr Tydfil, with train routes that can be accessed in the neighbouring village of Pontlottyn.
Governors are committed to appointing a Deputy Headteacher who:
- Has a proven record of excellent classroom practice;
- Has very good leadership and management skills;
- Has a clear vision and high expectations for school improvement;
- Has excellent personal and team building skills;
- Has excellent understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and staff development;
- Is strongly committed to working closely with governors, parents/carers and the wider community;
- A very positive attitude to innovation and change.
The governors will provide effective support for the successful candidate who will demonstrate a strong commitment to work closely with them to provide high quality leadership and the best possible education for children.
