We provide a wide range of plant and equipment hire solutions to the construction, civil engineering and industrial sectors. Our head office is in Grangemouth, with depots across Scotland and Manchester. We operate through 6 divisions incorporating Plant, Handling, Access, Accommodation, Power and Commercial Vehicles. The Role of Depot Manager:

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Depot Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our new premises in Nairn. The Depot Manager will lead by example, promoting a positive culture, and will play a vital role in the success of this new venture for Jarvie Plant Ltd.

Key accountabilities of the Depot Manager:

  • To lead the team, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of customer service and care are met
  • Manage and develop key local accounts to drive the business in your area
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with customers ensuring all business needs are met
  • Provide technical insight and advice to customers where required to add value to the sales process
  • Deliver the depot sales target each month and recommend areas for improvement
  • Manage the hire equipment and stock to ensure optimum utilisation
  • Maximise availability of hire assets and resources through a proactive repair process
  • Monitor and evaluate depot performance, implement improvements and making recommendations where necessary
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Regional Operations Manager
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and procedures
  • Maintain the transport revenue recovery budget for the depot
  • Manage and control depot costs in line with budget

Am I the person for this job?

  • Do you have an appropriate level of experience working in a similar role within a small/medium-sized business preferably in the construction and/or plant industry?
  • A proven commercial acumen, with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities?
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead a diverse team and a busy workload, planning effectively and working consistently to deadlines?
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus?
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively?
  • A proactive attitude aimed at delivering business objectives?
