About us
The UCL Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering is looking to recruit a Departmental Officer to join our Professional Services team. The post holder will be a key member of the team providing a reception and facilities management service in the department as well as administrative support to staff and students.
About the role
The position comprises administrative support, reception and facilities management, and events, in addition to being responsible for a range of tasks which support staff and students in a large and busy department. This roles involves dealing with multiple tasks and customers at the same time and is key to the smooth running of the department.
The post holder will be required to establish good working relationships with departmental academic and professional services staff with whom they will work closely. The postholder will provide a welcoming front of house service to staff, students and all visitors to the department.
About you
The post holder should possess excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people, both within UCL and external agencies. They must be efficient, organised and take great care in attention to detail. A professional, friendly and helpful attitude is essential.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently as well as part of a small team, within a relaxed and friendly environment.
Experience of working within a higher education and/or service environment is essential, as is experience organising committees and meetings. Experience of working in a reception and/or in an HR supporting role is desirable.
