An opportunity has arisen for a receptionist to join our professional and supportive team at Newyearfield Dental Centre in Livingston. Experience within working in a previous reception environment is required. However, a dental background is not required as full training will be provided by the practice. The job will be a part-time permanent position of 24 hours a week and will include working 4 days in practice Monday to Thursday. Working hours required are 7.45am – 2.15pm. We have a fabulous team of dentists and nurses who deliver a high quality of NHS and private treatments. The practice is fully computerised so IT skills preferred. Our reception team play a key role to continue the smooth running of our practice such as:
- Greeting and welcoming patients into the practice
- Scheduling appointments for patients or cancelling and rearranging if required
- Call or contact patients to confirm appointments
- Assist patients with the completion of necessary intake and medical forms
- Inform patients about payment choices if applicable
- Keep track of office supplies and, if necessary, place orders for additional
- Take patient payments and prepare billing statements, among other fundamental accounting chores
- Assure that client data is updated on a regular basis to reflect any changes that may occur
- Answer phone calls, photocopying, and filling of general office duties
- Collect data from patients, enters it into computer systems, and endeavours to make it available to dentist for use in doing appropriate examinations and diagnoses of patients’ health conditions
- Protect the confidentiality and privacy of patients
- Ensure that the reception area is clean and professional
- Communicate with Dental Laboratories and hospitals on either patient or dentist behalf
