Your new role: We are looking for an IT Delivery Manager to join our growing and ambitious team. You would be managing and leading one or more development squads, creating an environment that enables them to be their best and to deliver great
software. The role requires someone with strong stakeholder management and delivery skills as you will be overseeing delivery of IT projects and programmes of work and working closely with all areas of the business in an exciting, complex and changing environment. As a manager, you will be responsible for promoting a supportive and focused environment within which your team can effectively collaborate. You care about people and technology and are always looking to discover and encourage ways in which we can continue to improve what we do.Salary: £60,000pa
Requirements
Working closely with all areas of the business to deliver IT change you will be able to demonstrate strong critical thinking, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Main accountabilities:
- Delivery of projects and product backlog to the agreed scope, schedule, and budget
- Governance, resource and scope management, leading change through the established development and change processes
- Facilitate effective decision making within the team (technical and non-technical)
- Risk Management and Reporting of delivery status across baselines
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners, leading through discovery and delivery phases.
- Leading planning sessions as required, communicating prioritisation to the cross-functional team
- Contributing to wider technology team improvements, working with other members of the technology functions on people management, development processes, technical standards and how they should be implemented
- Communicating effectively in all directions - relaying high-level objectives and requirements to your team, escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring cross-functional collaboration and transparency across the DCA departments you’ll be working with (Live Service, DevSecOps, Product, Clinical, PX, Ops etc.)
- Encourage Agile ways of working, coaching your team in best practices
- Strong, practical stakeholder management experience
- Prior experience of managing developer teams or being a technical lead
- Strong understanding of modern development methods and practices.
- Ability to work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Curious, Creative, proactive and eager to learn
- Ability to prioritise and work on several projects at the same time
- Ability to embrace new challenges and deal with a level of ambiguity
Experience and Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in delivery of IT projects with multiple stakeholders
- Negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships and work collaboratively across various levels in an organisation
- Ability to build strong working relationships with peers and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise and work on several projects at the same time
- Strong, practical stakeholder management experience
