Job description
George Lodge & Sons Ltd are a distributor of bearings and power transmission products based in Hull. We sell a range of products to an extensive local customer base via our own delivery vehicles and over our trade counter. We also have an ever-expanding international client base and increasing internet and website sales.
We require a delivery driver/warehouse operative.
Applications will be considered from both those with experience in an engineering parts distribution environment and those with no experience but with a willingness to learn and pursue a career in engineering/distribution as training will be given.
Duties will include: -
Delivering to customers in our own vehicles.
Picking orders ready for dispatch
Packing orders to be delivered by external carriers.
Unpacking of consignments
Reconciling goods receipt notes
Replenishing stock on our shelves
General upkeep of the warehouse
Skills and experience required: -
Full UK driving license
Good standard of general education preferably to GCSE pass standard.
Have the desire to learn all the technical details of the products we sell.
Ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
Be well-presented and good mannered.
A determination to offer our customers the best possible service.
Have excellent time keeping and reliability and be prepared to be flexible with working hours to cover our customers’ requirements. This will include working every third Saturday morning.
