Job description
Delivery Driver required for Wiltshire Farm Foods in Worthing. The role is three days per week, Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, plus overtime covering drivers holidays if wanted. The day starts at 7am, finishing approx 1pm or earlier once experienced.
Wiltshire Farm Foods is a frozen home meals delivery service. With a few exceptions, the average age of our customer base is 83yrs. A proportion of them have various disabilities, therefore the role demands an individual who is very patient, friendly, understanding and kind.
The role demands many attributes from an individual. Not only must you be an experienced confident driver who can navigate your way around the local area in a small van, dealing with the stresses of traffic, you must also enjoy working with the general public having a happy disposition and be a natural helper with the aim to exceed customers expectations. A trustworthy & reliable person who is able to think on their feet with lots of initiative, a good work ethic and a ‘can do’ attitude.
An average day would be arriving at the unit in Worthing and loading your freezer van with your days’ deliveries of 40-65 drops and setting off to your local delivery area for that day. Carrying out each and every delivery with a warm and cheery service, completing your round on your electronic terminal as you go. Once deliveries are complete you head back to the depot and reconcile your paperwork for the office, passing on any information necessary before leaving.
You will be responsible for delivering in the following areas; Monday - Hurspierpoint & Hassocks area, Tuesday - Hove & Kemp Town area, Wednesday - Patcham area. Specific knowledge of the areas is not necessary as you will learn the route quickly as we service a large proportion of regular customers on a weekly basis.
You will be part of a small team of 8 drivers, 6 office staff and 3 pickers. A full drivers license is required with no more than 3 points on your licence and a clean DBS (police) check funded by Wiltshire Farm Foods.
