Jenny's Delectables Inc. is a fast-growing business based out of Calgary, AB that specializes in producing Gourmet Food products for wholesale. We are looking to hire a full-time delivery driver to help us keep up with growing demand for our innovative products by distributing our product to grocery stores across North America. We are actively seeking a hard working, dedicated, reliable and passionate individual to join our team!
The successful applicant will possess a proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, to fulfill responsibilities and complete job duties independently, and to keep up with physically demanding tasks with ease.
Job Description
· Transport product to destinations throughout North America;
· Represent Jenny’s Delectables by driving in a professional manner and maintaining care and control of equipment and load;
· Complete inspections as required;
· Provide proper documentation to dispatch and at weigh stations;
· Load, transport, and deliver product in a safe and timely manner;
· Load and unload cased pallets and returns from vehicles;
· Review orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete and charges are correct;
· Adhere to assigned routes and follow schedules;
· Abide by all provincial/state transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record;
· Prepare reports and other documentation relating to deliveries, HACCP procedures, weekly, daily vehicle inspections and incident reporting;
· Maintain temperature control of goods;
· Fill out and complete daily vehicle inspection checklists, driver delivery route logs for each trip to collect product temps and store signatures, and driver return logs when stores have blown returns;
· Operate equipment and machines such as trucks, forklifts etc.;
· Pick up any scheduled returns from customers and stores;
· Accommodate and carefully handle fragile merchandise;
· Track and comment exact shipment arrival and departure times;
· Secure and keep company credit card safe and only use for authorized purchases.
Scheduling
· Drivers will be scheduled according to the Commercial Vehicle Drivers Hours of Service Regulations (provincial and federal).
Job Requirements
· Valid drivers license (class 1 and 3);
· Driver’s abstract showing a clean driving record;
· Claims experience letter from previous employer;
· Criminal record check;
· Ability to drive for long periods of time;
· Ability to walk, lift and carry heavy items for extended periods of time;
· Bend, lift, kneel, twist, climb, carry up to 50lbs, stand long hours;
· Drivers must be willing to follow all company polices and practices in regards to driving;
· Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures and transportation laws;
· Uphold all safety rules and procedures while complying with Canada controls, Traffic Safety legislation and Commercial Vehicle regulations;
· Be customer focused and a team player.
