- Ability to read, write, follow written and verbal instructions, read road maps, prepare and maintain simple records, perform basic arithmetic calculations when matching records to items delivered, normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess at minimum of a Michigan Chauffer’s License.
- Michigan Class C – Commercial Driver’s License along with a valid Medical Examiners Certificate is preferred.
- Must possess an excellent driving record.
- Must be or willing to be CPR certified.
- Using the facility's vehicles, delivers and picks up a variety of supplies and items including but not limited to: facility mail, legal documents, drugs, facility monies, etc.
- Transports patients/residents to appointments at external doctor’s offices, local hospitals and various other offices.
- Maintains a logbook of all stops made including the date, time and nature of business.
- Determines most appropriate route for each stop to be made which occasionally requires the ability to read a road map.
- Assists storeroom in the receiving and issuing facility supplies when transportation duties are not required.
- Unloads facility goods from delivery trucks.
- Verifies shipments received with receiving records to ensure that appropriate items and number of items are delivered.
- Makes deliveries of items to facility departments by receiving requisitions, locating stock, and placing stock on hand. Records and transports to necessary location.
- Controls and logs all UPS shipping for the facility.
- Delivers all direct charge items to appropriate departments on a daily basis.
- Is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of the storeroom and loading dock area.
