Job description
Donwood Glass is a well established glass processor and manufacturer of toughened glass and insulated glass units. We have a vacancy for an experienced delivery driver.
- The applicant must have a clean driving licence (up to 3 points is usually acceptable).
- Candidates with experience in handling glass including insulated glass units and stock sheets of glass are preferred. However, training will be given if you have a proven track record in delivery driving.
- The applicant will also be required to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and expectations in a flat glass processing environment and at customers sites.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days per annum plus bank holidays.
The usual working week is 40 hours (8am to 5pm) but some earlier starts will be required to accommodate deliveries to certain areas and to cover absences or holidays of colleagues.
The hourly rate is currently £10.38 per hour. Overtime is payable at an enhanced rate and can amount to an extra 2.5 to 5 hours per week, sometimes more depending on workload.
The vast majority of deliveries are based throughout the North East of England on established routes commencing at our factory base and returning there before the end of the working day to begin loading for the following day.
Annual holiday entitlement is 20 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays.
