Becws Mon has an opening for an experienced Delivery Driver to join our growing team.
We are looking for an energetic and well organised individual who has a clean driving license with minimum 3 years of driving experience. The hours of work will predominantly be 1:30am - 8am Monday to Saturday inclusive (depending on how busy each day is there may be a need to work slightly later.)
Position Summary:
To pack and deliver the Company’s products to our customers, ensuring all orders arrive promptly and in pristine condition, to the correct address. To act as an ambassador for the Becws Môn and to behave at all times in a courteous and professional manner during interactions with customers, fellow road users, members of the public and with colleagues.
Essential Functions:
Without restricting the generality of the general description above, the Bakery Delivery Driver shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following:
- On a daily basis to check the order forms and organise the most efficient delivery round so as to ensure all deliveries are delivered on the day they are assigned for;
- To pack all orders as per delivery sheets
- To check the packaging to ensure it is correctly addressed and to physically check that the items match the order note prior to leaving the bakery;
- To deliver the orders as per the daily order sheet and to report back to the office at regular intervals during the shift to give a progress update and to alert management to any problems, for example late running deliveries or road traffic congestion. To alert the bakery management team immediately if it is likely that an order(s) may not be delivered to the customer within the quoted time period and to return any undelivered items to the branch at the end of the shift (no customer orders are to be left in the van overnight);
- To check the orders on arrival at the delivery address, prior to final delivery, to ensure that the goods and/or packaging has not been damaged or dislodged during transit;
- To ensure that the deliveries are checked by the recipient customer wherever possible
- To undertake daily safety checks of the delivery vehicle paying attention both to the roadworthiness of the vehicle. To report any problems or potential problems to management immediately; Other duties as assigned
- To ensure the company vehicle is maintained in good order and is clean and presentable both internally and externally;
- To drive and park the vehicle with courtesy and consideration for other road users and members of the public and in accordance with all road traffic regulations (please note that any fines or penalties incurred as a result of a breach of road traffic regulations, including parking in an unauthorised location, will normally be deducted from the driver’s salary);
- To report immediately any accidents or incidents involving the Company vehicle, including any damage to the vehicle, to the bakery management team;
- To undertake other driving duties as directed by a member of the management team
- To ensure clear communication in all verbal, written and electronic media;
- To adhere to Becws Môn company policies, systems and procedures;
- To adhere to Health & Safety and road traffic regulations and procedures;
- To support and maintain a positive working environment;
- To undertake training, as directed by the Company.
- To undertake any other reasonable duty as required by the Company.
The successful candidate for the role of Delivery Driver will require:
- You must have a good knowledge of the local area
- Manual task requiring the lifting of multiple 14kg crates
- Flexible
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy
- Be able to collate and load up van from printed order sheet and deliver accurately to customers
- Being comfortable working on your own
- Reliable and honest
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills
- Pro-active, resourceful
- Adaptable and willing to take on new and different responsibilities as they arise
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
Due to the location and hours of work, living within walking distance or your own transport will be required.Job Type: Permanent
