We are looking for an innovative and motivating Delivery Director who is passionate about setting the strategy, vision and direction for Operational teams whilst leading on development and growth. You will lead the way for a team of industry professionals, sharing your expertise and experiences, along with acting as one of the main advisor to our Chief Operating Officer.

Summary of role

This is a key senior leadership role, accountable for leading the development, continuous improvement, and delivery of best-in-class delivery provision and innovation in partnership with other senior Babington leaders. Responsible for driving a high performing commercial operation, highly responsive to market requirements and customer needs, as well as meeting all regulatory requirements and the overall quality of learner experience and progression. .

Brief summary of principle accountabilities of a Delivery Director
  • Directing a national learning delivery team, responsible for the delivery of Babington’s Apprenticeships portfolio, with in excess of £20m of income per annum
  • Accountable for all issues relating to the delivery of the Babington proposition to ensure that Babington maintains profitability, compliance and advances our competitive position.
  • Define a 3-year delivery strategy to ensure that we achieve both short- and long-term objectives, achieve budget and develop operational improvement plans to create competitive advantage and efficiency.
  • Lead cultural change in the delivery team, demonstrating Babington’s ambition to deliver best-in-class provision for learners and customers through operational excellence and recognising the important role our staff have to deliver this.
  • Drive compliance and quality management standards to an exceptional level – working closely with the Quality and Service Standards Director to ensure we maintain an Ofsted Grade 2 or above.
  • As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will forge strong relationships with colleagues to ensure effective collaboration and coordination of activities to support delivery of Babington’s strategic objectives, vision, mission, and values. Specifically with the Growth and LEAD teams to support the execution of the annual product roadmap in line with client demand.
  • Work with Implementation Director and wider Senior Leadership Team to effectively scope, develop, implement, and embed new systems/policies/procedures/ways of working to ensure that core learning delivery operational functions deliver on business objectives.
  • Drive learning delivery operational performance improvement through analysis of data, identification of best practice, technology and new initiatives. Be a central part of the data and MI strategy to improve operational visibility and performance.
  • To demonstrate a deep understanding of Babington’s competitive position to direct and support Heads of Delivery with the strategic development and enhancement of their relevant sector portfolio, and market leading services.
  • Control the learning delivery budgets to promote profitability, manage financial performance, resource planning/scheduling/utilisation to meet objectives within agreed timelines and financial parameters.

Qualifications
  • Grade A-C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent (E)
  • Degree/Apprenticeship at level 5 or above or other qualification in Management or other relevant area (D)
Skills and experience
  • Experience of delivering high levels of performance management across a complex delivery model (E)
  • Experience of remote management of multiple direct report (E)
  • Experience of Senior level development and management (E)
  • Experience of influencing and negotiating (E)
  • Experience of developing and maintaining key account relationships in line with service level agreement (E)
  • Experience of managing change to create a high-performance culture (E)
  • Experience of sector/industry policy awareness and interpretation on Babington’s behalf (D)
  • Experience of exceptional organisation and planning skills (D)
  • Knowledge of the Awarding Organisations, Funding Bodies and Ofsted regulatory arrangements (D)
