About the Apprenticeship
We have an exciting new opportunity for an apprentice to join us as we continue to grow our Development & Projects Management team. It is an exciting time, and you will be an integral part of a friendly and supportive team.
The apprenticeship will consist of work-based experience and training.
This role involves:
· Learn aspects of the quantity surveying duties and activities listed below with appropriate support from line management
· Learn a range of processes to effectively and efficiently assist in the cost management of capital projects
· Learn a range of computerised systems as appropriate.
· Learn aspects of document and data management systems
· Work flexibly as part of a team
· Undertake study towards achievement of a quantity surveying qualification.
· Liaison with internal and external stakeholders including designers, project managers, contractors and clients.
This is a permanent position.
At the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll have a BSc(Hons) Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management. TDA will also support you in gaining professional membership with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Start date: September 2023
Duration of programme: 5 years
Location: Torquay with one day a week attendance at University
Hours: 37 hours a week, with 20% of time studying or undertaking off the job training
What you will need to apply
· To be 18 years old or over as of 1stSeptember 2023
· Apprentices should be engaged and motivated, with a minimum of Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE and at least two A levels or a Higher National Certificate (HNC) Construction.
· Tariff points: 112
· GCSE: For all applicants, Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. Please note the University does not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificates in Adult Numeracy and Literacy as suitable alternatives to GCSEs.
· A-level subjects: No specific subjects required. Points from General Studies and AS-Level subjects (not taken onto full A-Level) can be included towards overall tariff. You must have a minimum of two A-Levels.
· EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: No specific subjects required.
· Access: Achievement of the Access to HE Diploma; to include 15 level 3 credits at merit.
· Baccalaureate IB: No specific subjects required.
· To be eligible to work in the UK
