Job description
In this role, you will be part of a small but high performing In-Service equipment support team delivering a £120m contracted support service for the BAE Systems Falcon deployable Communications capability. Falcon is fielded with the Army and RAF; it is currently deployed worldwide and held at high readiness for short notice taskings.
Falcon has been in service for 10 years and the team are responsible for managing and monitoring the Falcon Support contract. You will be contributing to all the technical aspects of sustaining Falcon through life; in particular, maintaining Cyber Secure integrity and delivering technical enhancements addressing critical equipment obsolescence. The role involves direct support to the Falcon user community and occasional travel to MoD and contractor sites within the UK.

Mandatory training specific to the role that will be required, to be undertaken by the post holder within the first 12 months of being in post:
- Safety Training – Safe Systems of Work / System Safety Training
It is also desirable that you also have:
- Relevant experience in a similar equipment support environment.
- Previous knowledge and experience in the use of the Tri-Service IT and Accounting Systems.
- A working knowledge in Materiel Accounting Regulations.
- A Health and Safety qualification.
Essential Qualifications:
- GCSE/NVQ English and Maths
Desirable Qualifications:
- Engineering Qualification: - ONC (BTEC) or NVQ Level 3
Person specification
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, possessing good communication skills, coupled with, hands on experience with MS Office and a willingness to be trained on bespoke MOD IT systems. You will be ready to acquire new skills, and take on challenging tasks.
In order to meet the requirements of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate has:
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Computer skills to competently use the MS Office package.
- Proven ability to prioritise own work to deadlines with speed and accuracy.
- Proven decision making ability, able to work independently and in small team.
- Manage a financial budget within allocation and as directed.
