The Role
The World of Interiors is looking for a Decoration Assistant to join the team at this exciting turning point for the brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the much admired Swatch and Shortlist pages, as well as special projects and online projects. The position is responsible for assisting the Style Director and working with the Decoration Associate to run a tight ship and maintain the uniquely individual WOI approach.
What will you be doing?
- Being hands on with the logistics of getting products to and from a location or studio.
- Keeping the decoration room clean, well stocked and organised.
- Support the production of the monthly Styled merchandising features for The World of Interiors Magazine and online features.
- Being responsible for compiling all the relevant caption information for the pages.
- Thoroughly researching shoots by subject, can include anything from Chintz to bathtubs.
- Assist the Style Director and Art department to conceive original and imaginative ways to display products on the magazine page.
Who you are:
- Expertise in the logistics of calling in products and getting them to and from a location or studio.
- A fast learner who is looking to pick up new skills and knowledge.
- A knowledge and interest in all aspects of art and the decorative arts.
- Organisation and an ability to work to a tight budget and monthly deadlines is essential.
- A fluency with the digital world.
- A broad range of skills including set design, sewing, painting, sculpting etc.
- A keen eye for details.
- Knowledgeable about all aspects of Art and Design.
- Good communicator and who can stay calm under pressure.
- Team player, both on shoots and in the office.
Where will you be?
- We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in our iconic Vogue House building, situated in the heart of Mayfair. This is where our award-winning Editorial and Content teams sit.
