Job description
THE ROLE.
37 hours a week.
£23,400 – £26,000.
Based in Guildford and Ash (hybrid working possible).
There’s never been a more important time to work for Citizens Advice. As food costs rise at an alarming rate and energy bills are sky high, families are struggling to make ends meet and we’re experiencing record-breaking demand for our services. Join us on the frontline of the cost-of-living crisis and play a vital role in helping people find a way forward.
We are looking for a motivated team player with a ‘can do’ attitude to help us deliver debt advice to local residents, as well as helping clients who have called the Citizens Advice National Debtline.
Whilst we are looking for an individual with previous experience/qualifications in debt advice, we are also happy to consider applicants who are passionate to help clients and wish to train in this area.
If you do not have the relevant experience but are interested, please apply and tell us about your skills and experience that you consider meet the person specification and will enable you to develop into this role.
As a debt worker you will be able to guide and empower clients as well as negotiate with creditors on their behalf on all matters including council tax arrears, rent/mortgage arrears, electricity/gas debt, credit cards, insolvency, bailiffs etc and look at available options for clients to maximise their income.
The Citizens Advice service values diversity, promotes equity and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
More details are found in the job pack. You can apply here and also fill in a diversity form as part of your application.
