Under the general direction of the Vice President of Equity and Student Services, this position provides leadership, supervision, coordination and direction of student support departments and programs including: California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS); Disabled Student Services and Programs (DSP&S)/Learning Disabilities (LD); Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S)/CARE/NextUp; Veteran’s Resource Center; and Beaver Cares (Basic Needs).
The Dean of Student Support Programs plans, develops and administers the program budgets in the identified areas of responsibility in consultation with faculty coordinators, directors, supervisors and staff. The incumbent works cooperatively with other Los Rios Community College District colleges and district staff.

Assignment Responsibilities
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Building a collaborative work environment with faculty coordinators, directors, supervisors and staff to connect and provide direction for all programs and services.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with key constituencies to ensure maximum effectiveness of program resources.
- Fostering college-wide awareness of student success in all programs and services.
- Encouraging a climate of innovation and staff improvement to achieve optimal performance.
- Functioning as the lead administrator for all programs and services in pursuing successful student services outcomes.
- Coordinating the establishment of standardized business processes in all programs and services.
- Fostering a climate of collaboration with HomeBases, the Counseling Center and other support services.
- Supervising classified staff and faculty personnel in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of student support programs.
- Supervising work schedules, absence reports, evaluations and professional growth of all assigned staff.
- Promoting staff development and training for areas of responsibilities.
- Preparing and presenting proposals concerning necessary policy and procedural changes for all departments and services, assuring interconnectedness of services.
- Helping to establish and coordinate consistent district-wide policies and processes that ensure campus compliance with federal, state and institutional policies, regulations and reporting requirements impacting all programs.
- Working with faculty coordinators, directors, supervisors and staff to identify and maintain the annual budgets for all programs.
- Acting as liaison to all advisory committees in areas of responsibility.
- Acting as the primary liaison with the State Chancellor’s Office for programs supervised.
- Serving as a member of the Student Services Administrators Team.
- Acting as a liaison between the college and District Information Technology department in support of student support programs.
- Recommending selections of candidates for certificated and classified positions in the areas of responsibility.
- Possessing a working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, guidelines and business practices governing programs such as CalWORKS; DSP&S/LD; EOP&S/CARE/Next Up; Veterans Resource Center; and Beaver Cares.
- Possessing a working knowledge of budget preparation, control and fiscal reporting procedures.
- Possessing experience in project management, business planning procedures and effective customer service.
- Possessing a working knowledge of California Community College categorical programs such as CalWORKS; DSP&S/LD; EOP&S/CARE/NextUp; Veterans Resource Center; Beaver Cares; and student success efforts.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Have a master’s degree from an accredited institution completed by October 1, 2023.
2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.
3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
