Job description
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our well established “Excellent graded” nursery in Aberuthven. The role will work alongside our existing Nursery Manager in a job share capacity over 3 days. However, a full time position will be considered for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have:
- a recognised practice qualification (NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or similar)
- SSSC Registration and PVG membership
- a love of working with children and staff to provide the very best child-care experience
- excellent people and interpersonal skills
- knowledge and experience of staff recruitment, retention, and leading staff development
- sound understanding and experience of working to Child Protection, Health & Hygiene, First Aid, Fire Safety and SSSC and Care Inspectorate policies and procedures
- good computer literacy and IT skills
Leadership tasks include:
- overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery
- maintaining high personal standards, leading by example and modelling behaviour to staff and children
- creating a supportive and motivated environment for staff to be the best they can be
- ensuring all children attending the nursery feel nurtured and engaged; receiving rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
- ensuring policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, including all legislation relating to the Care Inspectorate, SSSC, Child Protection, Health & Hygiene, First Aid and Fire Safety
- keeping up to date with current and developing standards of Child Care Practice
- building and maintaining positive relationships with parents and carers
