We have a great opportunity for a Database Support Systems Analyst to join our IT Team on a permanent basis. This a full-time role, which can be undertaken on a hybrid working pattern from our site in Inverness.

What YOU will do here at LifeScan:

Working in our IT team, you'll be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of our on-site manufacturing databases to ensure that they are operational. This is a critical role in the ongoing success of the site.

You'll also be creating new databases and servers to ensure that as a site we are maintaining high compliance levels.

You'll also be working across the various business streams, representing IT on a number of continuous improvement and development projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership, Maintenance, Monitoring, and Support of the site's SQL Server Estate
  • Implementation and Support of Commercial Off- The- Shelf Systems (COTS) and Custom shop-floor manufacturing systems
  • Partnering with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Labs, and PMO teams
  • Troubleshooting problems and conducting analysis for efficient program/application solutions
  • Evaluating and making recommendations concerning software additions and upgrades; acting as a technical expert to help drive decisions
  • Performing routine audits of systems and software and proactively address legacy platform and data issues
  • Partnering with global IT Teams to support initiatives such as Analytics, Business Intelligence, and bring forward technology initiatives that can drive tangible business value
  • Continuously improving data quality and usage software products and applications while ensuring high availability and data integrity
  • Providing technical support to teams delivering regulated Supply Chain applications
  • Supporting and developing junior team members and sharing best practice across the teams
Requirements:

About YOU:

In order to be successful in this role, you'll be a problem-solver with a strong background in supporting and managing SQL Server databases. You'll ideally have a degree in a Data or an IT related discipline, but another degree qualification with strong, relevant experience to the role requirements is also fine too!

Together with:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • A creative mindset with an eye for continuous improvement and attention to detail
  • An ability to work independently, but also be comfortable contributing to team and project work when required
  • Advanced SQL Server and Scripting experience – latest level
  • Windows clustering, High availability, SQL AlwaysOn, and Windows Server experience

It would be nice if you had but not essential:

  • Project Management experience
  • MySQL and Oracle experience
