Job description
- Own the management and leadership of the Enterprise Data Architecture team, creating clear career pathways for your team, providing direction, and instilling a sense of cross team and inter-departmental collaboration
- Coach and mentor team members, building their capabilities to solve problems
- Build robust relationships with the business partners and gain a clear understanding of business activities, drivers, and goals with a view to provide solution strategies and alternatives
- Work with your team to make strategic recommendations, assess business opportunities related to emerging technologies, and evaluate the impact of business change on the data architecture and platform
- Play a key role in supporting the Sky Data strategy by driving the transformation of our data architecture towards the target state, maintaining a high-level roadmap of the required capabilities, and constantly searching for opportunities to bridge these gaps
- Establish the Enterprise Data Architecture team as trusted partners to the business, seen as truly influential and as an internal consultancy
- Build strong relationships with tech vendors and other technology partners, and help to identify new technologies that enable future business opportunities
- Establish a positive relationship with the other Sky Data architecture teams and ensure there is a smooth information flow between the teams
- Define and enforce architecture guidelines and standards
- 15 or more years’ experience in the data or technology area, with a high degree of proficiency in crafting and developing sophisticated, robust, and secure high-quality architectural solutions
- 3 or more years’ experience as an enterprise architect
- Proven experience of leading a team coupled with a demonstrable ability to empower as well as the ability to mentor and grow individuals within your team
- Ability to successfully manage multiple sources of demand and provide coherent overviews of status and progress to senior management
- Confidence communicating solutions, ideas, and suggestions to a variety of senior level partners effectively and comprehensibly, helping to steer and gain agreement for addressing sophisticated challenges
