Data Warehouse Developer

We are currently seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Developer to join a dynamic Data Services team. As the Data Warehouse Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our data warehouse, ensuring smooth operations, and supporting the business with SAS analytics, data mining, and MI/BI production.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the data warehouse administrator, monitoring scheduled jobs and resolving any errors promptly. Ensuring GDPR compliance, including secure data deletion when necessary.
  • Design and develop new reporting and campaigns based on business requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date data policies and procedures,
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive data strategy
  • Proactively ingest new data into the warehouse, building ETL layers, and delivering end-user tables as needed.
  • Monitor/maintain the scheduling tool, ensuring smooth and error-free reporting and campaigns.
  • Automate reporting and data movement throughout the organisation, supporting data-related aspects of key projects.
  • Provide training and education on the SAS platform, helping to enhance the skills of newer SAS users and promoting best practices.

Knowledge & Skills:
Â
  • Strong background in SAS (SAS Base & SAS Macros) with exposure to other data-based disciplines (e.g. SQL).
  • Understanding of ETL and data processing best practices and methodology.
  • Familiarity with Python and/or similar programming languages.
  • Experience in process automation and MI/campaign development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand business requirements and build effective data solutions.
  • Capable of delivering SAS training to junior members, emphasizing best practices and efficiencies.
