Location: Edinburgh or Leeds
Salary: £62,016 - £81,396 (depending on experience) base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays

Who are we?

The Data & Analytics team is a multi-disciplined team of about 70 colleagues sitting within the Insurance, Pensions & Investments Chief Operating Office.

Our roles range from Data Governance and Management to Data Science as well as developing Business Insight using a variety of data platforms to provide the services for our business needs.
About the role:
As a Data Visualiser in the Data & Analytics team, you will help drive visualisation and storytelling by:

Translating complex data into engaging visualisations and interactive dashboard to inform decisions across the IP&I landscape

Supporting the continuous development of existing dashboards across the IP&I portfolio

Working to ensure the delivery of dashboard solutions and the resolution of design issues and risks in a timely manner

Educating business users how to use data visualisations throughout the decision-making process as an advocate of a data driven approach to new product development.

Supporting a data visualisation strategy that builds advantage and development of IP&I initiatives
About you:
You're the sort of person who is enthusiastic about data/insight, and passionate about storytelling and visualisation. With an enquiring mind and an innovative nature, you can leverage essential problem solving skills to provide simple and effective solutions. You will be able to communicate complex stories using data with both technical and non technical audiences whilst challenging the status quo to drive new approaches to people data.
You can take the lead on visualisation projects seeing through from start to finish while juggling multiple priorities. And critically you'll be experienced in working with and influencing others whilst managing or nurturing the skills and capabilities of more junior colleagues.
What skills & experience we'd like to see:

You’ll have excellent skills in in storytelling, visualisation, and dashboard development (Power BI or Tableau expertise very desirable).

You'll have strong experience gained in a data driven organisation in a business analytics, BI, or reporting function. (Experience working with People Data would be advantageous).

You're comfortable using big data and sourcing data from strategic sources (data warehouses etc.)

You'll also have the desire to learn new approaches, techniques and technologies and work in an agile way.

Your CV should highlight where you have led or developed colleagues and at interview we'd be looking for evidence where you've contributed to building a data culture within a team
